Kol Haskalah: A Humanistic Jewish Congregation
was originally known as the Triangle Congregation
for Humanistic Judaism. We serve the Triangle
area of North Carolina (Chapel Hill, Durham,
Raleigh and surrounding communities). We are
professors, programmers, teachers, artists,
scientists, lawyers, doctors, musicians, moms and
dads, grandmas and grandpas, retirees and
homemakers. Our members range in age from 2 to 90
years young. We are a lay-led community, which
means our members determine the focus and essence
of celebrations, services and activities in
accordance with the tenets of
Humanistic
Judaism.
In addition to a dynamic Sunday School for kids ages 2-12 (leading to B'nai Mitzvah), we offer adult discussion groups, a book club, occasional Shabbat services and evening programs, fun-filled holiday programs and celebrations (with great potluck dinners) and plenty of opportunities to practice our core values of social justice, tzedakah (giving) and tikkun olam (repairing the world).
Check out our calendar and join us at one of our upcoming events, programs, classes or celebrations!
