Study Groups and Social Activities
In accordance with the Humanistic Jewish belief that "Education
is a lifelong enterprise," the Triangle Congregation for Humanistic Judaism
is in the process of creating a number of self-directed Study Groups.
These groups will meet informally at members' homes throughout the
year. If you are interested in joining and/or leading one of the
groups listed below, or have a suggestion for another study group
or social activity or would like to lead a new group, please contact
us.
- Torah Study From a Humanistic Perspective
- Study of Alan Dershowitz' book, The Genesis of Justice: Ten
Stories of Biblical Injustice That Led to the Ten Commandments
and Modern Morality and Law
- Judaism Beyond GodTeachings of Rabbi Sherwin Wine,
Founder of Humanistic Judaism
- Raising Children in an Interfaith Marriage
- How Archeology is Reshaping the History of the Ancient Israelites
On a lighter note, we are also encouraging activities that will
appeal to the diverse interests of our members. Again, if you are
interested and/or have suggestions, please let us know.
- Dine-Around (we have already met at Spartacus of Durham, and
Neo-China)
- Jewish Songs and Dances
- Local Trips
- Book Club
- Wine Tasting
Since the list of study groups and activities will change from
time to time, we suggest that you visit this page often to see the
current listing.
