Social Action Committee
Our Social Action Committee is developing opportunities to bring
TCHJ members together to put into action the principle of Tikkun
Olam (repairing the world). The Committee plans activities in which
all members can participate. It is at a critical point right now
because it will be deciding what our focus will be for the next
year.
The Social Action Committee and congregation members provide ongoing
support to the Durham Community Kitchen each month in concert with
other Durham Jewish congregations. If you would like to volunteer
to help provide casseroles, vegetables, cheese, dessert, or help
prepare or serve, please contact Renee Rauch at 361-9223 or rauchs@mindspring.com.
TCHJ members also have donated towels, rugs, blankets or other
soft materials to the Durham Animal Shelter.
