Our Stories
Humanistic Judaism is a relatively new addition to the spectrum
of Jewish denominations, having been founded by Rabbi Sherwin Wine
in 1969. Thus, most members of the Triangle Congregation for Humanistic
Judaism have made a journey during their lives to reach us.
We would like to share some stories of their journeys, which help
picture the diversity of our backgrounds and beliefs.
- Cathy Lynn Moore was
the first President of TCHJ, and is now an honorary member of
our Board of Directors.
- Herbert Halbrecht
is a co-founder of the Triangle Congregation for Humanistic Judaism.
- Marv Axelrod is a co-founder of the Triangle Congregation for Humanistic Judaism.
